The Cumberland Bird Observers' Club conducts at least 40 birdwatching trips every year all over the greater Sydney region. That's more than three outings every month - rain, hail or shine - and you are very welcome to come along. No bookings required.
If you have never been birdwatching before then one of our outings is the perfect way to start. You don't have to be an "expert" - in fact if we only let "experts" in, the club would number about four, instead of its current 560 members.
As well as regular club outings there are also Nestlings outings for families with young children and the Wednesday Warblers outings for those who have the time during the week. So no matter what your age, location or level of experience there is no excuse - come along to a CBOC outing and become a birdwatcher. You'll love it.
But wait there's more! The club also holds monthly evening meetings with guest speakers from around the world and great slide shows. At the meetings, members can borrow from the extensive library of books and videos, buy discounted bird books and gifts from the shop, and have a good old chin-wag with other birdwatchers while enjoying a complementary cup of tea or coffee.
There's no need to birdwatch alone. Just turn up at any CBOC outing or meeting and introduce yourself. You'll be very welcome.
